Astrologian Macros Hi all, Relatively new to the game and also new to Astro healing. First thing that I noticed is a lot of people were confused about why I was throwing cards at them, and what the purpose of each one was.
I was a bit confused at first too! I use a lot of macros on my SCH so wanted to add some to AST too that would help raise awareness of the buffs that were going out. I've shared them here in a Google Drive file for anyone that's interested. Have fun healing! If people are still confused by cards nowadays, after what? Six months? There is absolutely no reason to macro cards and raise awareness. And the AST ones are hard to miss.
I commend you for your effort, but I strongly advise people to NOT do this. People already believe that healers should babysit them enough as it is, and there's no need to add more fuel to the flame. I couldnt agree more but if we do nothing we still would'nt benefit to those clueless to the divine power.
I personally have thought to do this but we'll see. Im sure everyone knows what the balance is, but may now take advantage of other cards, I already have to estimate the time some dps pop CDS because not all like to listen.
Outside of raids, where you should be communicating through voice chat, why does it matter that people may or may not know what card is being played on them? A nice idea perhaps for newer AST. I only use a single macro on AST though and its a discard macro.Work in Progress — This is mostly going to start out with the macros I myself use, then go from there. For Bard Macros I tend to use a different style of macro than I usually do. Its in the interest of keeping up dps and always using the most optimal action once its available.
In this macro style I list multiple actions in the same macro, but I only expect a single action to go off each time I press it. Once those are all applied I use a standardized macro that just uses the first skill available.
Its kind of odd how I have my hotbar. I have 5 most used macros and skills, then most all of the other actions on the skillbar are set up to show me what action will actually be used by the macro listed above it. Since 2. On my whitemage, most of my macros have more to do with targeting quickness. Ironically enough, the things I macro most often on whitemage is notifications or offensive spells. I can switch targets if I want. It makes it all very flexible.
Sometimes I just want the party to know what is being done. The couple I use most often are the following:. Its positioned in the same spot on all my hotbars that has it as an option. On my scholar, again my macros are centered around quick targeting, as well as getting my fairy to be a little more useful.
Note: My preference is for Selene to be on Sic, but obviously you can adjust this however you want. When removing a debuff, I often have to decide if its better to heal first, or remove the buff. Thanks to the forum posts, someone there had mentioned that they just have their fairy heal at the same time… Brilliant!
Here is a macro that makes that happen If your fairy is set to Obey. I have a macro that gives a little extra healing effort in those cases. For that I have this macro. This could free up some space on your hotbar if you currently had each one listed. This would require you to target the person you want to be brought to first, then click this macro.Home What's new Latest activity Authors. Forums New posts Search forums.

Ross Staff member. FC Leader. I copied the layout of what you wrote here but for some reason after activating swiftcast it doesn't follow on with raise. Yet if swiftcast isn't available, the macro uses raise just fine. Any idea why that might be the case?
Page 1 of 2 1 2 Last Jump to page: Results 1 to 10 of Thread: Nifty ressurection macro? Nifty ressurection macro? Hello everyone! I'm trying to keep my buttons to a minimum, and since every healing class gets their own ressurection skill I was wondering if there was any macro to mash them all together? I currently have two macros I find very useful, and was hoping I could get some help making a res macro as well. Thank you all! Bless you. I didnt realize you could do this with different spell ranks.
The only one I noticed didn't apply twice was Thunder. Enlighten me, what exactly do the macros you gave examples of do? I'm not a master of macros, but it looks like you have it set to use Thunder III, but if you're running a lower level dungeon and it's not available, it will give an error hence merror offand then it moves on to Thunder II, and Thunder I in turn, so it will cast the highest you have available?
A quick critique of your stone macro if I may. Macros can cause issues with skill queuing, which will lower dps. As I am sure you have noticed, occasionally, your macro may also cast the wrong stone, such as "Stone" instead of "Stone III" at So at the beginning of the duty, you cast protect and it places the appropriate actual action skill on your bar, which means no more issues with skill queuing or accidentally casting the wrong spell.
May I ask why you want a rez macro? Like already said, if you want to play as effectively as possible, you will want to avoid macros as much as possible, since they prevent you from queueing your abilities and, because of that, slow you down a bit.
There may also be lag issues related to macros like line 2 being executed instead of line 1 etc. Also, that Thunder macro isn't very good for Black Mage, since you will only want to cast Thunder 3 when it procs and slow cast Thunder 1 instead. Evy Rain from Phoenix. Useful macro that Winsock, cheers! And to chime in on using macros for core healing and DPS abilities.
I'll also strongly advise against doing so. We're talking just over 2 GCDs a minute which can be quite a chunk over an encounter or dungeon.
Not currently on it so I can't copy it over sadly. Oh right sorry. I dunno if it matters, but I never use ""s unless its two words like "Stone II". Originally Posted by Ghishlain. Is anyone else having the issue with the Ascend icon not showing up in the macro?
